Homelessness in New South Wales
Homelessness is a nationwide issue which, according to the 2016 Census, affects at least 111, 427 Australians. The most recent data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics highlights a significant rise in homelessness in NSW.
This concept compares homelessness in the state to the rapidly growing rate of rental properties in its capital, Sydney, where the vast majority of homeless people are recorded to live. Making the most of digital platforms through social media, the design uses both moving-image and music. In conjunction with a bold typographic typeface, this captivates the viewer, whilst pie charts and rising numbers tell the story of increasing homelessness in NSW. The goal is to create a comfortable user experience in order to translate alarming information around a complex issue.
